The Gamer's Bill of Rights Unveiled

The Gamer's Bill of Rights has been unveiled today. Of the ten “rights” listed, I personally think that number eight on the list is the most important. In fact, I think number eight would actually eliminate the need for at least two of the other rights listed.

Gamers shall have the right to not be treated as potential criminals by developers or publishers.

Thats brilliant. As an avid gamer myself, every single one of these i would have to wholeheartedly agree on.

Is this a fantasy list ? Or is this like a a list thats hoping for support from senior positions in the world like the Government, Police forces, massive game developers etc ?

It seems silly for a lot of this to be implemented...

Making it so you don't need a cd to run... but also saying that you should be able to easily return a game once purchased? Come on, this list sounds like some anti-corporation propaganda. It has some good ideas, but come on.

A CD Key should be required. So at the same time you wouldn't need the CD but cheap skates also couldn't join in on online play. Besides there are Programs that allow unoriginal CD's to run games. Still while the requirement of a CD to play sounds convenient for the developers. It can also become inconvenient for the customers. Not much to say cause there will always be piraters.

most games these days don't require a cd to run anyway i've found. It's just the odd game that wants to be irritating. Being forced to use a cd doesn't even hinder pirating in the least, to think so is silly. As long as there is a program or game to pirate, there is someone completely capable and willing to pirate it. a certain ********world is proof enough for that.
There are a couple of those that I like, and a couple i found a bit silly.

A lot of those 'rights' just make rampant pirating of games even easier than it already is.

If you allow the return of open games for a full refund then rampant theft of games will ensue and it will just come back.
