Default Farcry water screwed up?

I remember playin this game back i nthe day on my old system, and the water looked amazing, laggy as it was. Now i run it thru ma 7900 GT and the water looks ridiculous, kinda like they created a pattern then just repeated it thousands of times with daft colours etc. Is this a case of technology proceeding the game software or what?

Changed Graphics settings? Updated Direct X? Updated Card Driver, Updated Game Patch?

There will come a day, such a day when all will be told more than they wish to know, what one hears may explain the past, it may explain the future, but it has never made a difference either way and it will change nothing. Some day.... But that is not this day, and I don't know when, I just don't know.

Yes install all the farcry patches. Its been while since Ive played farcry, but I think that theres maybe 4 or 5 patches.( you have to install them in order too) Also update your video card driver.

My friends emachines did this when he first got it and we installed the patches and the water was perfect. It used to be just black with some red lines ll over the ground.
