Default Doom 4 Announced

Doom 4 announced, id Software hiring - Joystiq

Not quite surprised, hopefully it will live up to the series better than Doom 3, which IMO was still a good FPS, just didn't really feel like Doom.

Just got into playing Skulltag not to recently coincidently. Just go to Skulltag.com and download the program, allows you to play WAD files (such as DooM I, II, and Final DooM, Hexen, Heretic, and Strife) with an enhanced DooM engine, full control configuration (including free mouse look, like modern FPS's), play online with up to 16 people, fun if you ever got into the games. You just have to have the WAD files, which aren't included but can be "acquired" pretty easily *cough*piratebay*cough*.

Oh God. Doom 3 still cripples many systems if put on Ludicrous settings...

Doom 4 will be EPICLY HARD to run. Can't wait.

I agree, scared the **** out of me a few times. Still nothing has even come close to how much fear Silent Hill 2 did. That game was so intense!
I agree with this quote from another website... Doom III is the scariest game I have ever played, and I own F.E.A.R. and have played Silent Hill...

Can't wait for DOOM 4, You know you have to get it...

Oh dear......... I hope they do more that just make it another tunnel crawl. Doom III bored me towards the end.

Yeah, I agree with you there. It was fun until it hit towards the end.

Same here. id is smart enough to see that, though. Any guesses as to what the setting would be? Space marine in ****? Another planet/moon base? A Doom II: **** on Earth redux?

I'm sure it's a ways off, they've gotta develop tech 5 and their new game (Rage or whatever) first.

How this news escaped me this long i will never know.

Doom 3 was nearly as nice looking as staker I rember playing it for the first time and the first zombie that attacks you was just so unexpected *Flash* *Flash* an the arms come at you. The tunnel crawling aspect was fun for a while but i would like to have explored the surface of mars a little more maybe some kind of rover to get from sight A to sight B ect.

The only part that anoyed in the whole game was the sole cube ending with the daemon, that was just to simple. I would like to see in the next one more of the Martian Buddy crates containing some useful or weerd stuff and another installment of supper turkey blaster (Games console in the first break room before the game kicks off).

The setting would be have to be either another marine on mars or part of the rescue team, who says that just because hero faught off the first wave doesn't mean there wouldn't be a 2nd wave. Or maybe one of the other bases like phobos an demios that would kick ***.
