I think if you purchase Half Life 2 over steam you get CS Source free over steam.

Yhea I got it! It rocks! You get Halflife 2, plus you also get Halflife source and DOD source along with Counter Strike Source wich you get to play now.

CS:S is out, all you need to do is pre-purchase HL2 via steam. If you want to buy a hard copy version, you're going to have to wait till the end of Nov when HL2 comes out.

But for now, enjoy the new graphics engine.

Personally, I think the gameplay blows compared to the original.
