Battlefield 2142 X-Fi Audio issues. HELP!!!

I just bought a Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic sound card, hoping to use it in 2142. But, when I clicked on the X-Fi button in the audio settings panel, the game crashed. Now I have to use the software renderer. I have the latest 1.10 patch. Does anybody know a fix?

System specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400
Asus P5N-SLI
2 GB DDR2-800 Corsair XMS RAM
300 GB 7200 RPM HD
EVGA nVidia Geforce 7900 GT
Creative Soundblaster x-Fi

nvm, it works now in x-fi mode with ultra-high quality
