| 30 fps in crysis just not good enough for me here this hole time i thought that my computer just wasnt handleing the game good enough.
i mean i would try peoples costom tweaks like doomlord or tao wolf but when i would play, it just didnt feel as smooth as i thought it should. u know i would turn my back from the open turrane so that i was just looking at rocks and it would feel really smooth when i would look back and forth, but then i would turn around to the open turrane and look back and forth and it wasnt as smooth, and i like it smooth baby so i thought my computer and its 8800 gtx sucked. but then just today i finally used the showinfo thing so i could see my fps and i was getting like 30 to 35 and never below 30. and most people say thats great to play at. weeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllll
yes its playable but not smooth and i like it smooth rather than not smooth with eye candy. Soooo its back down to just high with sun beams and use pom for the rocks cause i like it smooooooooooooooooth baby. |

| Re: 30 fps in crysis just not good enough for me I dont find 30 fps to be enjoyable. I get ~45 on average in Crysis with everything on high, it's playable. I prefer 60 and above.

| Re: 30 fps in crysis just not good enough for me yeah, I use Ultra High settings through the config tweak and I usually play it at 1680x1050, and get about 30-35 fps, I turned it down to 800x600 and I was maxing out 60 fps (I had vsync through config enabled), I couldn't believe how much more fluid it is. I used to think this game played smoothly on lower framerates but I've never seen such a difference in smoothness between 30 and 60 fps in other games as much as I've seen it in Crysis.
I still enjoy the game quite a bit, I just wish it was that smooth at higher resolutions. I also think at 800x600 my refresh rate on the monitor is much higher, so it was extra smooth, almost like lifelike-fluidity.

| Re: 30 fps in crysis just not good enough for me The ultra high cfg at 1920x1200 drops me down to 18 fps I sit around 40ish playing at just "high". I should get around to finishing the game. |

| Re: 30 fps in crysis just not good enough for me I have heard sooooo many people say "crysis play great at 30 FPS"
That is soooo much BS....30 FPS is 30 FPS....I don't care if you are playing tiddily winks or CRYSIS!!!!
People are just playing it at 30 FPS , because that is ALL THEY CAN GET, AND THEY WANT TO PLAY THE GAME!
Wait until the hardware can play it at great FPS.....Then they will think they are playing a different game.
That is why I am going to wait to play it....I want to play it the first time with nice frames per second.
I don't believe ANYBODY who says Crysis plays great at 30 FPS....Just what would make it play so good at 30 fps, and other games dont play so good.....PLEASE.
Okay.....ENUFF from me....hehe

Okay.....ENUFF from me....hehe | Well, actually, I think you need to do your homework before making bold dismissive statements like the one you just did. Crysis does look much smoother at 30fps than other games do at 30 fps - and that isn't just my opinion, it's a provable fact. Why? Because, Crytek knew that no one would be pulling 60fps in their game with all the eye candy turned on at a high resolution, so they developed special "frame rate stabilization" software in their Cryengine 2 game engine, which Crysis is based off of. Their frame rate stabilization technology runs on cores 2 and 3 if you have a quad core while AI and physics run on Cores 0 and 1. This makes the game look much smoother than it actually is.
