[Haddas]

So I installed SimGolf on this laptop.

Lemme give you the specs:

Windows 2000 SP4
1204MHz Genuintel
376mb of memory
Directx8 (installs with the game)
S3 Graphics Twister

Now, I can play the game for up to 2 minutes before problems occur. The game continues normally. NPCs walk about on the course, talk and whatnot, play the course and so forth. I can scroll over the map and hover above keys, which change and even display info of the tile. The game works completely normal, EXCEPT The sound hangs, and I can't click on ANYTHING . I've tried reducing the graphics acceleration, to the point where the game no longe runs,and I tried reducing the sound acceleration gradually down to none. No Dice. It's not covered in the manual or the website or the forums I've searched.

Try updating to the latest version of Direct X, that will probably fix your problem.

I'll try that. although I doubt that's the problem. (Does directx control mouse/keyboard input?)

Nope. Didn't fix it. Sounds still stats to loop and input from keyboard or mouse gets ignored.
