you can hook up a consol and have it shown on the monitor...

but I'm not sure you could hook up the sound...

that tv tunner looks like it has audio capabilities /\

(the card I bought only has sound, but only through the coax port)

You can hook up your console to your computer, almost exactly as hooking up your TV just not using the TV.

I made up my TV tuner, i used the box that came with my video card with the yellow RCA plug. Then i had an adapter that came with my X-530's that converted the regular plugs to the red and white audio plugs. And i hooked all those wires to my VCR, which is connected to the cable. Now what you can do is hook your PS2 to your VCR, and just change those plugs and your done

If you buy a TV Tuner im pretty sure it will work as its the same plugs

I'd probably have to go with the computer. Console gaming and computer gaming are both things that are both really fun . . . But to me, Comp gaming brings more to you, and if you think about it . . . In the end, which truely costs more? (Every year you have to buy a new console it seems . . . and the games are 49.99, where as just buy a one time computer that lasts for a long while without upgrades, get a game that lasts a long time and is multiplayer, make a few bucks off of it maybe even . . . etc.)

Why not start a poll?

there's a possibility of burn-in when it comes to plasma tvs. lcds, lcd-projections, and DLPs don't run the risk of burn-in. if you mainly do gaming then burn-in should be a major concern when buying hdtvs.

would you be able to maybe do both? get a highdef tv and an htpc type deal? and like 1 console..

PC is the way to go, No way will a console ever be able to match the power and graphics of a PC.
