Default My Advice

The best thing to do is take an old nintendo hackit into bits and find out how it works. then build one based on what you find out. I'm not sure what all goes into on of those litle machines but all the parts should hae fcc numbers on them look up what they are and what they do then make your own parts that do relativly the same thing and add your own functionality to it.

I mis understood whatn you wanted to do.

try doing hacks with the Neo Geo or genesis they are basically the same system. you'll want a 68000 processor either way.

that's my recomendation.

Yes every PCB should have a FCC number on it you can look that number up on the net to find out what that particular part is or does. Could also be FCC ID# or some thing like that.
