Default How can I buy a PS3? I love u all

To what measures must I go to get one of these before Christmas? I am willing to wait outside of a retailer all night if that's what it takes.

* Which retailers will release these, how many might they each have available at a given location?

*any websites offering them?

*is there a reserve/ hold onto one for me option that retailers offer? (probably too late for that if there is but you guys would know)

* Any info/ tips on managing to get one at all would be helpful. Any idea how many are expected to ship to the US? Japan was supposed to get 100,000 by november 11th but is only getting 80,000 due to manufacturing problems.

* and the most n00bish question of all cus I <3 u all : What are the release prices for the 20GB and 60GB versions and ...

*What day will it be officially released !?!?!

haha I know I'm a n00b but I want one REALLY BAD so that I can whore it out on eBAY before Christmas to make some much needed $ and make someone and their parents happy I was willing to part ways with it

lol thanks guys -James

PS3 will be released in 500 and 600 dollar versions on November 17th. Reserves are pretty much done, but there is still hope to get one even though only 400,000 are being shipped to the USA. Toys R Us will have ps3's, my guess is around 6 not counting reserves (based on my area), and the Best Buy near me will have 15 total (no reserve option). You will want to camp out a day before release if you want to hav ea very good chance of getting one, but for myself I am really serious about getting my second PS3. Because of that I will be camping out wednesday night (it comes out next friday). All in all, each store will not be getting that many, so if you see a big crowd, move on to a different store.

Now you are getting into the meat of camping out. First of all I am going with a friend, and we are bringing coolers of food. Entertaining oneself is not really a big deal because I will mostly be concentrating on not freezing to death -- that is entertainment enough. We are going in pairs, so when one of us needs to use the facilities we won't lose our place in the line. We are also going to bring an assortment of weapoms, personally I am bringing a bat and my friend is bringing a blackjack and a pocket knife.

If someone holds my place. no they won't demand a share because I will then do it for them. That is how it usually works, you group together with the people you around, in my case the people at the front of the line :-).

Well, you could pay a front-liner to spread propaganda about where exactly the PS3s are located, and tell him to tell the other front-liners to follow him to a PS3, however, the direction he is going is totally different.

Then there's your chance to sneak in and grab a PS3.

Or you could wait until the fire dies down.

How the **** wants to wait out in the cold for more then one day to be able to play some crappy launch games? I know I wouldn't have done it for the 360 because they too had crappy launch games. I remember waiting over 2 hours outside of a Best Buy so me and my step-dad could get in this massive sale they were having for only 1 day, none the less they're were tons of people there. I thought 2 hours was bad, omg, how can people wait that long.

The only way I see it as rewarding is selling it for a profit.

I just read an article on Google News that said some people are already camping out to get the first place in line.

Meh, it's only a week right?

Yes, I am camping out to sell BOTH systems that I get. I woudln't camp out for the ps3 if I just wanted it to play.

Yeah, Best Buy kicked people off the grounds after they already had camped 4 days.... if anyone wants to camp out early be sure to ask the manager and get things okayed first.

I don't see the point in waiting this far ahead in the first place.
