See, when I get upset or depressed, playing video games is the last thing I want to do. I find if I play video games when in a bad mood, it only makes me frustrated even more and I play like crap. The only thing that really seems to calm me down or mellow me out when i'm in a bad mood is go on a drive in the 'Stang.

Neither the chicken or the egg came first. The aliens came first.

No offense but you couldn't have that much muscle if that is all you way. You sound like skin and bone almost.

I've got like 2% body fat.... my physique is very muscle-full. For my weight, the things I'm able to do is very good, I'd say. Bench 220, single arm curl 50, I ran/run for miles each week, do probably a thousand crunches and push-ups a week as well.

Sure I'm probably not "all" muscle, but I'm certainly not skin and bone

This was me 2 years ago and I've improved a bit since then. I don't max out things, I workout to keep lean and strong without building up a lot of bulk and extra weight. In this picture I only weighed 140

Depressed - yup! but work age and marriage does that to anyone

Overweight - Yup again! But beer and good food are to blame for that...lol

Secondly, I'm pretty sure they are jumping to conclusions as there needs to be much more research into whether it is the games or the depression that comes first...chicken or egg anyone?

Study: Games are depressing...or are they? - Plugged In - Yahoo! Games
also you have to factor in what they consider the criteria of a gamer to be. if they think a gamer is some one who plays 20+ hours a week that isn't very just. i play just under 2 hours a day if not more or less depending on the day, some might not say i am a gamer i would say i am. I am a very active person and i game a lot to, am not depressed nor over weight. with things like these you cant pay much attention to them because the criteria for there the tests, and who the subjects are is based upon what they choose. if they have a negative bias towards gamers they will pick criteria that will suit the needs to achieve the results they want from there research.

I live in the Seattle area, and I completely LOVE the rain. I've lived in the south for a few years and the rain is what I missed the most. There is nothing like fraggin' online in a thunderstorm.

As far as depression, weight, and age having a connection to gaming, I think it has nothing to do with the gaming itself. Humanity has always found escapes and has always taken things to the extreme.

GTA didn't murder kids. Doom didn't murder kids. WoW isn't encroaching upon realities. Anything that can be will be taken too far.

I game mabey more than 2 hours a day, it can make me depressed, so I don't disagree; I also follow a routine of excercise and jogging; was this done on a select group or a large test group in a controled experiment?

I find that a lot when I read studies... They are either poorly executed and their results are usually the "well duh" types. Not to mention I completely agree... they often mistake or misinterpret or don't even consider which thing caused which. I started playing video games because I was depressed and bored and my dad had just died... not the other way around. O.o Oh, and I was also overweight LONG before my introduction to video games. ^_^

Chicken.

- Also... who conducts a study for depression in... Seattle? There is a reason why that Twilight movie was filmed in Washington State....
