Thumbs down The Death of the gaming industry. :(

Honestly. is anyone going to come up with anything better than UT 2004 and HALO look alikes? There's got to be something more original out there, but not since 2002 has anybody come up with a good enough 3rd person shooter!

For game developers now, the only way to go with a 3rd person shooter is to have cheap retarded looking graphics with characters that can't seem to moove their own necks, ghetto- @$$ scenes of Los Angeles with stereotypical characters abroad, and everything and everyone looking and acting just like Grand Theft Auto games!
There's got to be some new game developers out there that actually know how to make their own freckin game for crying out loud! Everythings 'Mythic' this, and 'street fight' that! And for goodnes sake; why is every war game about Viet Nam or WWII??
It dosn't matter HOW GOOD the game is, that sh!# gets vary BORING vary quick! there's got to be some better talent out there.

I know what you are saying.

Like I have seem to get more enjoyment out game from about 8 years ago.
Like the orginal Unreal was a good 40 hours of game play for single player.
Where Unreal 2 was about 8 hours.

Simulare deal with Original HL and HL2.

And WarCraft III was extremely short.

It seems that a lot of game devs are cutting back on the single player style, forcusing on the multi player side.

the focus there is the level of realism. UT, Doom, HL are in Fictional settings. Where WWII and Nam are not.

However after talking about 'Nam with my uncle (who served in 'Nam), his attitude is "Why wou want to make a game on that blood bath in beyond me".
I guess I am too young to understand that, however I think I would feel the same way if they created a FPS based around the events on 9/11.

F.E.A.R was a little dose of creativity, and I still enjoy counter-strike, no game quite like it even to date. But all the others, meh, especially racing games. Not to mention the 7th mario party just came out sheesh.

ps final fantasy is the worst game ever

He does have a point, Doom 3, Half Life 2, Quake 4...all of them are just the same things we saw throughout the 90s with just a much prettier face. And games such as Pariah, Area 51 etc, are just plain trash. I miss the Wolfenstein series, and the KoToR series. Those are probably my favorite series' of games of all time. I wonder how close Return to Wolfenstein 2 is

i agree every 3rd person shooter exept MGS3 which had 1st person shooting and 3rd everything else looks and feels like crap and is just like GTA but the only people who do it right is rockstar because the own GTA, and the graphics still suck.

Cool "Raident..."

Hey, dose anyone remember the: everyone copy off of MGS2 days?

I hated them because it seemed like every main character had to back up against the wall if they hope to have a successful game.
when you think about it, it's not allways necissary. I mean, why do you have to back against the wall just to turn AROUND in a 360 degree rotation to shoot sombody? That's just rediculus.

I remember the days of the first MGS when you had to do that to get through narrow spaces and staying in the shadows. now it just dosn't make sense because most of the time either nowone can see your shadow, or YOU JUST DON't HAVE ONE!

Thief 3 was awesome (other 2 as well). I would like to see something similar to say, sanitarium.

I'd play an FPS on the events of 9/11....but then again I played that JFK game where you played the roll of the sniper....guess I'm just desencitized like that.

I'm not saying that morally it's right, and if I had someone who died in it then yeah I probably wouldn't want to play it, but if a game like that actually came out, my curiosity would get the better of me.

as far as nam goes, just put in god mode for him and let him kill some charlies all he wants course he may go into a flash back and think YOU'RE charlie and try killing you

FEAR and Far cry perhaps, but quake4 falls into the 'same old crap' category
