The thing I don't like about FF series a lot of the asian RPGs is there combat systems. Sure the cinematics for the combat are nice eye candy as you see the character pose and unleash there attacks. However the combat is very much like playing a game of tennis where it's....
Your throw a punch at NPC
NPC throws a punch back
Your throw a punch at NPC
NPC throws a punch back
Your throw a punch at NPC
NPC throws a punch back etc etc etc
However with that being said, the combat system that was with Grandia II was rather enjoyable they did allow character to move around the battlefield mid combat. And depending on where you where can change the out come of the battle.
Unlike FF and a many others where you have
FRONT ROW :- More Attack Damage, Less Defence
BACK ROW :- More Defence, Less Attack Damage
And this is some thing you could not change mid fight.

I would not call WOW (or any other MMORPG) an RPG.
Main reason is this. What you do has no effect on the rest of the world.
Does not mater now many times you kill the the Lich King, he's still going to be there tomorrow (or next week) when you run the instance again.
Unlike Fall Out 3. I can walk into Megaton and kill every one there, and in doing so, I just made thing much harder on myself as Megaton is the first city you start leveling up in and I am not going to need to rely on othr location for food, supplies and ammo. There fore my action did make a change on the rest of the world. It's not like I can walk out side of megaton and reset in the instances and walk back in again and find every one alive again.
In an RPG, when you die, you are dead. None of this respawn as a ghost and retreive your body and gear with some sort of death penalty and continue your progress. You are dead. The only exception to this that I can think of is Eve Online where Death is very unforgiving. Sure, you have clones and insurance. But still that will kick you around alot.
