yes, 10 and before (I really didn't care for X2, but for different reasons). My favorite Final Fantasy was US2, though that could just be an association with a generally good time in my life (great lazy summer)

Unfortunately, it seems RPG as a genre is dying, giving birth to MMORPGs...I for one am not happy about this.

I think it's still a viable market... but convincing the manufacturers of that may be a different story.

Well, we'll always have final fantasy at least, even if they are taking forever to bring them out now.

So, I really want to play a good turn based RPG that I haven't played before. With the exception of FF9 I've played all the Final Fantasy games. Dragon Warrior of course, and Chrono Trigger. Name your favorites and what system they are for.

Even though i only got 3/4 of the way through, I thought Legend of Dragoon on ps1 was a good game. I would recommend the star ocean games to you, but they're not exactly turn-based. Some people like the shadowhearts games. There are three, and they are all on ps2.

Yeah, it was able to hold my attention much longer than ff7, but, then again, I was much younger when I was playing Dragoon.

The RPG market is very alive and well. Here are some releases that will be coming our way between October and winter of 2010:

Risen

Divinity 2

Dragon Age

Arcania

Sacred 2:Ice & Blood

Drakensang - already released

* There are others.
