Default XP device default - Audio

Hey all,

I have got myself a Bluetooth Headset from Logitech and am having problems with it being the default audio device. I want my 6CH audio card (On-board) to be the default media output device but everytime the bluetooth connection is connected it sets the bluetooth headset as default audio output. When the wireless conection (bluetooth) is disconnected is set the 6CH audio device as the main output.
Is there anyway that I can edit say a registry file or somthing along those lines so that is locks the 6CH audio device to the default device.

Cheers,

Poncho

id try installing any software that came with the headset. Look for a setting to disable this action.

or

You could try a Right click on the speaker icon in your system tray goto "Adjust
audio properties" then on the "Audio" tab set your preferred default devices then
tick the box "Use only preferred devices

I dont know much about bluetooth, but it sounds like it may not be possible. Unless there is an option for it somewhere, then I can't think of any way to "freeze" that setting.

Yeah that is pretty much what I want to do is freeze the default audio device inplace but I havn't been able to do it with settings, I was hoping to do it with a program.

My dad is an Uber programer so he might be able to wip somthing up.

how does the bluetooth plug in, USB?

I've said time after time that the only way to use your soundcard is to plug the device into your sound card. if you plug ANY other audio-related device into a USB port, it will act as your sound card.

You said it was for phones, though, which means it's probably not USB, in which case your problem might be due to the fact that it's for phones, not PCs.

read this http://forums.mobileburn.com/archive...hp/t-6342.html it might be useful.

but from what i've been reading from google searches is that in order for the bluetooth device to work properly, you have to select it in the audio devices, so it's not looking like you can use the soundcard with it...

you can probably set it up so the headset just uses the mic and uses your soundcard to output sound to speakers.....................?
