Default wma to MP3

Hey my friend sent me 3 songs from his friends cd and they are all .wma format. I went into run, edit, and then tried to change it to mp3 but i couldnt. How can i change those to mp3 without burning them to a cd or anything, thanks!

I know you can convert mp3 to wma but I didn't think the reverse is possible.
Have I been mislead? I don't deal with wma at all.

wma-to-mp3 is possible. I'm not sure where you heard otherwise...

but then, can i know what is the purpose of converting it to mp3 format?

if you're just trying to play them on your computer, try winamp. it plays a craptone of music formats, including .wma
