Post windows media player help

one day i opened up my windows media player 11 and i see that there are no music files in my library and it says that it is checking for them in the background or to click here to add files to the library now. and i do that and add my folder that has my music in it, and i click ok then it closes out but doesnt search. so i click again and the folder i added to monitor is gone. i can still play files by finding them in explorer then "playing" them. i tried removing using the ADD/ REMOVE window components and then adding it again using that.

Did you try uninstalling it just in the 'add or remove programs' list?
and if that fails, where is wmp11 installed? It should have an uninstall icon somewharez there.
