Default Will this work?

Basically I wanna connect this LG Home thearte system:

http://au.lge.com/md/product/prodcat...Id=1100000945#

to this soundcard (Soundblaster X-fi Xtreme Music)

http://www.soundblaster.com/products...&product=14066

Now I believe that I will have to buy the upgrade I/O Console for it as well... which is below:

I just want to use this home entertainment system rather than my computer speakers as they are much better quality...

If you want surround i'm pretty sure you'll need that panel, but if you don't mind 2 ch then you could just use an 1/8" to RCA cable.

Sorry I forgot to mention this before, I just had a better look at the Creative website and in the accessories it has this thing called a "Home Theater Connect DTS-610" (link below)
http://www.creative.com/products/pro...&product=14191

Now I'm pretty sure this will do exactly the same thing as the I/O drive but it heaps cheaper. Plus it comes with all the cables.

That should work as well, but keep in mind for surround you will need an open Optical In on your receiver. I suppose you could just reach behind it and switch the cable every time, though.

What do you mean switch the cable everytime? Everytime when I switch between what? I'm not sure if that reciever has an optical in as it's quite basic...

I guess I assumed that since you have home theater speakers you have them hooked up to a DVD player or something else that has surround sound. If that's the case, you will have to switch the optical cable between the DVD player and your computer if you want surround.

So you have an x-fi and a receiver with optical input, why not just buy this?
http://www.soundblaster.com/products...6&product=1780

it's even cheaper and gets rid of that DTS-610 box and provides a direct digital link between your computer and your receiver.
