Question what is a good Gamer Sound Card..??

i have a SUPREMEFX II that unfortunately came with my ASUS Rampage Motherboard.. it has never worked very long at a time, comes and goes.. and has apparently gone and went for good.. and GOOD #@!&^*!% RIDDANCE.
lots of people hate this card.. ASUS wont even reply to complaints about it on their forum.

i need as reasonably priced a Sound Card as possible that will do a good job.
i am really tired of play'n Crysis muted...!!

here is what I'm work'n with....

ANTEC 900 Case.
ASUS Rampage Formula X48.
Intel Xeon 3110 3MHz Core2 Duo.
VISTA 64bit Home Premium.
Silent Knight2 CPU cooler.
8GB OCZ Reaper HPC DDR2 1400.
2x Western Digital Caviar 500GB HD RAID1.
VisionTec Radeon HD 3870 X2.
OPTI UPS Battery Back Up.
Cosair 750 watt PSU

any input is greatly appreciated... thanks

Check these out:

- X-Fi XtremeMusic (Woot.com has a decent deal on these if you look hard and check everyday)
- X-fi XtremeGamer

The Music is better and goes great with gaming regardless of it's misleading title

thanks for the reply.. i was looking at those..

is there much difference in these two.. worth the price difference.. reviews mention Driver Problems.. also read they had been fixed.

I'm considering the pro series.. of that version

Newegg.com - Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer
found from $105-$123
but there seem to be some problems for some folks, however 87% & 84%positive.. both about the same
Customer Reviews Of Creative 70SB046A00000 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Professional Series - Retail

Newegg.com - Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card - Sound Cards
i found this one for $70

after checking around.. i found different forms of the

1/ Newegg.com - Creative 70SB046A00000 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Professional Series - Sound Cards

2/ Buy PCNation.com Products: Creative Labs >> (70SB046A00000) Soundblaster X-fi Xtreme Gamer Pci 24bit Fatality Pro Series

the board is different.. no heatsink and different IC's..?? i was about to get this card, but now i need to figure out the variables

ACTUALLY... this would take up less space on my MoBo.. would go into the SupremeFX II slot.. Rampage Formula Board is limited, but is it compatible, etc... too many choices and the learning curve is really steep

i ordered the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Express Interface Sound i decided to use the
PCI Express slot that the Supreme FX was in.. or I'd have to lose the Fax Modem when i went Crossfire later.

I'm not buying any more ASUS products so the Creative was my only choice.. looks like it will be a good one.. i hear creative is working on drivers and make'n good changes .. unlike ASUS who wont even reply on their forum when 5 people in a row on one post complain that the sound card that came on their $300 top of the line motherboard doesn't work. also their user manual is useless.. so i quit using any of their stuff. it will have to have a Really Huge discount before i buy anything else ASUS
