| Hi, I do alot of VOIP over softwares like Teamspeak. I am using a poor condenser mic which when played back to me sounds very bad and lots of hissing and humming in the background so I think its time to find a new one. I got about £40 to spend, wich makes it hard to pick. I was looking at SHURE vocal mics but they are out of my budject. So if anyone has any suggestions that would be great. Thanks |

| I once used one of those kind of mics with my PC for VOIP such as eqso, skype, msn/yahoo and games, interference was fairly bad for me also they are not designed officially for PC but their just an audio accessory at the end of the day, it was only cheap too bout £30, some better ones are £100+. Also I had a bluetooth ear/mic headset recently Plantronics M2500. These are normally for mobile phones such as handsfree for motorists. They can be used with a pc bluetooth enabled or dongle in usb port which is how mine was linked, they don't work very well at all on pc VOIP very low sound quality and mic ok-ish, well my set didn't work well, their a pain to connect as well. Wired mics are still the best at the moment for PC voip chat, I only use a desktop mic, Labtec Versa 514 (Black) also known as the 534 sold in Argos for £9.99. They can be bought dead cheap on ebay quite frequently. I paid £5.99 for mine and quality is crisp & clear, very sesitive too so picks voice up well. The cheap mics work the best I find. The all in one wired headsets/mics don't last with me once had a Plantronics headset £24.99 RRP broke within 3 months but that's the problem with inline volume controllers with loose solder joints. I then bought a £12 Labtec Axis Headset lasted 2 weeks. The sound quality was superb on both headsets just fragile things so are consumables with some users such as myself. My set up has remained the same now which is pair of Panasonic In-Ear stereo headphones (£3.99 per pair in argos) and i get threw about 3-4 a year. That's just me though not all people. Sound is outstanding. Then my separate mic which is my Labtec Versa 514. The whole set up works 100% and never has let me down. HOPE THIS ADVICE HELPS! |

| Just buy a headset. They're specifically designed for that kind of thing. Mics for Karaoke/Video aren't going to do well. They pick up way too much background noise. You could look into a lavallier mic if you like. Clips onto your shirt.
