I have the x-fi fatal1ty edition card. I use the cans in my sig. I bought a clip on mic and plug it into the front sound blaster mic input and I can hear everything i'm saying through my headphones. So the mic is working fine. But when I go into the Vista 32 sound options and check, vista does not see any sound coming in. It is like it is bypassing windows and just going straight from the mic input to the output and to my headphones. I got the mic for Left4Dead and that game also does not recognize and sound coming in. That is what prompted me to see if Windows was recognizing it and it is not. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Have you checked all the sound options in the control panel? Have you checked for updated drivers?

yeah, but I'll double check again cause you never know. My driver was the most up to date on the creative site. Any specific control panel things I should be looking for? I can hear the sound in my headphones so the mic is not muted....

That is the part of the sound Panel you need to check. Maybe you need to configure it or check the properties to make sure it is functional.
