Default Video on a Tv

I've hooked my pc up a tv I have with an s-video cable, and want to play a video on it. I've got everything worked out, except the video won't show up on the tv. Everything else does, but no matter what media player I use its just a black thing on the tv. Help please?

On my laptop you have to enable "Extend my Windows Desktop onto this monitor" for s-video and VGA out. It's in the Display Properties under Settings.

That's with an ATi Radeon Xpress 200M, I'm not sure if it's different with other graphics cards though.

I have the exact same problem. I was just going to post a new thread on this. I can see everything fine on my TV but when I go to use Windows Media Player I just see a blank space where the movie should be. Power DVD is the only program I can use that works but not all my movies work with Power DVD.

Are you saying that your desktop will show up on the TV but video players wont? Is that what you are saying or am i misunderstanding you?

Exactly! I can see the Media player window, the playlist, the volume bar, but I can't see the actual video.

I've tried it on a computer with XP and the newest windows media player. Same thing. The same thing happens with DivX player and any other player I've tried.

Thanks!!
