Default ?video? card

I somehow acquired one of these http://www.stream-video.com/stream2k.htm . Now that I have it I wonder what I can do with it. I do not completely understand what exactly it does "plays
flawless quality streaming video from your computer network."

Say I want to use this on a machine running windows XP and use the S-Video to connect to a TV. Will I be able to play Divx etc?

Can this card completely replace the integrated graphics on the mentioned computer?

Any feedback will be useful.

thanks

I am not sure but I think it works like a tv tuner and streams tv to your computer. The only difference that I see is that it will stream the tv over a home network so other computers can watch it.

^^ thanks for the replies.

I believe the card was just designed so that you could use your computer to watch DVDs. This was probably a good thing to have 8 years ago when a DVD was too much for a CPU to handle.

So basically I guess I can't really use this card since most computers can handle dvds just fine. And no, I don't think it will let you playback Divx or replace onboard graphics.

I guess I can use it on an old machine to make it a media box or something.
