Default update driver

my pc is using for its video a 64mb nvidia feforce4 mx420 card. how can i improve or even eliminate a persistent flicker that accompanies my graphics? nvidia.com has a generic update for geforce. should i download that program?

That sounds more like a hardware issue, first I would take the monitor plug and clean the connectors of the plug AND the VGA port on the card. but yes, it is a good Idea to download the updates called Detenator Drivers from Nvidia's site.
