I would like to get my apple ipod to fully work with other media software such as Winamp and Windows Media Player.

I can actually sync as in load mp3 audio files to my ipods hard drive with winamp but the ipod will not play them back, no songs appear in the songs menu, the apple itune software re-encodes them someway where third party media applications don't.

Is there anyway to sync with Winamp/Windows Media Player and be able to play the songs back on the player no problems. I'm not keen on the itunes software and prefer Winamp or Win Media.

no wmp that will play back. winamp has an ipod plugin that will work

Winamp I have sync my ipod with but songs still didn't show up/play back on the ipod but were on the hard drive.

I got winamp and plugin installed but no luck also can't seem to get winamp to pick up the ipod either, sometimes it picks it up sometimes it doesn't.
