| Hello all, I've been thinking about a surround sound system for my computer. My motherboard has onboard audio, according to the manual "RealTek ALC658C 6-channel software audio codec" (whatever that means), and besides a few crackles when I listen to music, it has worked well. -Will my onboard audio support any sort of surround sound? -Is there any major differences between 5.1, 6.1, and 7.1? -What's a good midrange sound card if my onboard audio doesn't support surround? -What should I look for in surround sound speaker systems? Whew, that's a lot of questions... good luck ![]() |
