Hey, I am thinking about getting this 5.1 surround sound speaker system for my gaming computer:
Logitech - X-540 Multimedia Surround Sound Speaker System (6-Piece) - 970223-0403
If you view one of the pictures of the back of the subwoofer from the link above, you will see that the back of the subwoofer has tons of jacks with all different colors.
The top three labeled "Front", "Rear", and "Sub/Center" connect from my computer's onboard audio jacks to the subwoofer. And I know my motherboard has these jacks.
However, there are more jacks beneath these labeled "Front Left", "Front Right", "Center, "Rear Left", and "Rear Right". I assume that I plug the speakers directly into these jacks, since there are 5 speakers besides the subwoofer.
Finding a place for my front and center speakers will not be a problem. Placing the rear ones will. I want to mount the two rear speakers in the corners of my bedroom, which are roughly 10-12 feet away from the subwoofer, and about another 10 feet high.
The problem is that the cables that would go from the subwoofer to the rear speakers are WAY too short. I was thinking...would it be possible to splice these rear speaker wires with average
speaker wire, so that these cables are extended and I can run them along the top of my walls?
Here is what average speaker wire looks like, in case you don't know:

If it is possible, would I still be able to enjoy the same quality sound with these newly spliced/extended rear speaker wires?
Thanks!
