considering you're using on-board sound, you probably won't hear the full potential of the 5500's until you upgrade your sound card. the 5500's will still sound good though

EDIT: Warning though...never turn them up past halfway unless you are a good distance away from them, haha.
I often turned it up 2/3rd with the speakers about 40cm from my ears  And occasionaly i did turn the sub up to full, i have genuinely shook the otherside of our house. It's a bad sound, but it is a monster of a sub for the money

5500's sound good, until you've herd something better, which pretty much all bookshelf and full towers are. But then the for the size of these satellites, they excel. The only speakers that sound substantially better and are of a similar size are Acoustic Energy Aego T 5.1. But a) Acoustic Energy are a high end Hi-Fi manufacturer, Logitech are a peripherals PC manufacturer And b) they're alot more money.

Well yeah, the z-5500s are expensive enough. If you were paying any more for computer speakers, I'd have to check your head out. Especially since a little more money than the z-5500s couple buy you a nice home theater setup, lol.
