| right, this is an attempt at a soundstage diag: left----------center-------------right sl----------------------------------sr -----------------me----------------- rl------------------------------------rr as you can see, it is a bit messed up. in the creative calibrations thingy, on the front/rear balance, i have it set as rear as possible. when listening to music, i cannot hear the rear speakers. when i am playing games, this is OK, as sounds play on their own from different speakers. it i turn the front lot down, i can hear the rears when listening to music etc, but when i play games, the rears are much too loud. i would prefer not to use CMSS if possible. i dont like the way it sounds. is the anything i can so? the speakers cannot be moved.

| Audio Engineer | Music is not meant to be played in surround. If you are hearing sound from the surround speakers, then you have something set wrong. When playing music, you should only have 2.1 sound. Unless the CD's you have were done in surruond, you wont hear it... there are few CD's that are in surround so I doubt you have one. The reason the rears are so much louder in games is because it was meant to be played in surround. EDIT: P.S. Turn that CMSS off... it only hurts the sound. |
