Default SoundCard Problem???

ive a "realteck ac 97" integrated soundcard,
the problem is it plays audio faster than normal speed(i think its about 1.4 time faster), but it can play midi files perfectly. i can fix the speed of some other file formats in MediaPlayer by setting playback speed and by setting the "Key" value to -4 on a software available with soundcard driver(soundman) but the sound still not perfect. i ve performed all troubleshooting described on windows xp. its sure that the problem is with hardware. any idea ??

thanks
