What software are you using to play videoes?

I'd recommend Mplayer, which is command-line (has keyboard shortcuts aswell, including "[" and "]" to shift the audio track to be in sync with the video), and is low on resources
If you prefer a GUI, there's also SMplayer (which uses the Mplayer engine)

VLC is also a great media player.

You're not likely to need any with Mplayer
MPlayer - The Movie Player

There is a codec pack for Mplayer if you do. But you should really only have a small collection of good codecs, rather than a large collection of varying codecs

Mplayer is a full player. You just use it with keyboard shortcuts, or perhaps modifying the config file, instead of pressing buttons with the mouse.

uhm...bad way to state that. I mean that i just like having the whole display thing. I'm not good at remembering keyboard shortcuts so i like being able to click them :]

thanks for the recommendations though
