Default Sound/Mic Problems

ok, im using a Soundblaster X-Fi sound card, and a steelseries 5h v2 headset

every time i open a game, i get a buzzing sound. it sounds like when your standing next to like an electrical tower or something of the sort.

when i talk on vent, my friends can hear the buzzing.

on my video card, theres a couple different settings, u can swap between entertainment mode, game mode, and audio creation mode. when i go to entertainment mode, it mutes my mic, and the sound goes away.

ive messed with a ton of settings and i cant figure out whats causing it ><

ill check back frequently thx =)

How close is your sound card to your graphics card or any other card in your system?

That could be the cause right there. Could be picking up interference from the graphics card.

Sounds like your mic has a ground issue. Really no way to check this unless you try another mic.

Do you any open PCI slots? May be an IRQ conflict.
