Well, I think a little more info is needed here. Is the card a new one? Did you recently install it, or have you had it a while? If it is a new card and a new install, I'd recommend disabling your integrated sound card first if you have one. Next, if that isn't the problem, I'd make sure to load the proper drivers, after making sure you uninstalled any old software or drivers from your old card.
