I recently got a new monitor capable of 1080i DVI-HDCP and a blu-ray player. Really impressed with the quality of the BR, however, everything else looks terrible at 1920x1200, including standard DVDs. I know that some home entertainment center BR players have a DVD upconverter built in which can make them look almost as good as real HD content, however, I haven't seen anything in the way of software upconversion for PC systems doubling as an entertainment system.
Are there any decent video players out there with an upconversion feature? I've heard some people mentioning FFdshow filters helping with this sort of thing, but I haven't a clue how to actually use that.
Does anyone have any suggestions, advice, or tutorials on how to make SD videos look decent on an HD monitor?
