Default Running PC through TV

I have recently bought a new PC (E6600, x1950xtx, 2Gb ddr-667 Ram) and was thinking of running it through my TV (Panasonic 37" HDTV). Is it just a matter of plugging the computer into the TV or is it more complicated than that? I looked on the back, and it has a socket labled 'PC' so I'm guessing that's the one to use. After checking on the website, the connection is a 'Mini D-sub 15-pin x 1', would I use a VGA, DVI or some other kind of wire to connect to this?

How good would the picture be, and how responsive the screen?
