what sized hdd does an ipod use guessing the nano's are 1" drives........... the mini's were 1.5"???

I've taken ipods apart (with a precision flat head at the side of the ipod, where the FastForward button is. you put it anywhere else you run the risk of breaking the ipod ). they are not like creative or other players. they don't use a standard harddrive.
so you can't upgrade it to 180 gig unless you got the the drive from apple.

sort of an extreme project it involved taking a big hard drive ( a standard desktop one and using it with an iPod Video, bulky, but effective nonetheless.... google it ull find it  | |

do you have a link? the only one that I see is when you order the 100 gig toshiba hdd that's the same size. I want to upgrade mine to 200 gig using a standard hard drive if I can. I have an 80 gig video and it will only take about half of my music

actually i came upon it by accident one time.. when i googled a way to change my iPod Layout, but it will show something about using plasticdip to change ur iPod Headphones color, then keep looking thru that one site and it will show what i speak off
