Hi, I have connect my pc to the tv by dvi to hdmi, the video shows up on the tv, but I want to watch videos etc on the tv but the problem is that there is no sound with the connection, so i tried to use the 3.5mm jack to rca the red and white, but on the tv when u select the hdmi connection the video show but in order to get the sound I have to switch to the side av connection, so I need to get the video and sound together and someone help please.

If you simply plug the sound cable of the RCA jack into the audio out of the soundcard and find a way to fix it there (it will not fit, recommend tape) and plug this into your TV, you're in business sir.

Hi, yes i pluged the jack in the card and the rca in the tv, but on the tv inthe menu there is hadmi and side av the sound is connected on the av and the video hdmi so i can only get 1 video or sound, if i selected hdmi connection that i get the video of the computer but no sound and if i selected side av that i get sound from the computer but no video.

does your tv have a dvi or vga in? you could do that with the rca cable and should be fine. Or if you have a streo system you could go rca to the stereo for sound and dvi to hdmi for the video.

From the sound of it his tv doesnt support audio in on the same channel as the hdmi. I assume you use a surround sound set up, cant you just plug the audio directly into the reciever?

This is correct. DVI is video only, hdmi is both. So you have to run the audio output to the tv or stereo reciever seperately.

you don't. you need to run dvi to dvi to that tv to get sound, unless your tv menu has an option to reassign sound

lolz, its a different connection. You cant just plug in ur computer to ur tv in say.... "Input 1" and then plug in the sound in say .... "Input 2" and expect to get the sound to come out. You have to plug both of them in to the same inputs.
