Unhappy playing encoded files

i am new to playing mpeg and avi files i am trying to find out how to play files that are Y encoded is there a program i need to convert these? when i downlaod them in nx xspress news reader they come up as a bunch of letters and wingdings and when i try to save them my only choice is to save as a txt file and none of my players regonize the file i have winxp pro divx5 real one& win media player any comments greatly apreciated thanks

Yenc is not a type of encryption that you play files in. It is used by news readers and you have to decrypt them first.

Just get Forte Agent at www.forteinc.com and use that as your News reader. No more problems with Yenc.
