| Super Techie | DESPERATE HELP NEEDED! I have an X-Fi platinum. I am wondering if I can just run a wire from the output jack to a mixing board or if I have to run it through a preamp first. The play is tomorrow, so with all haste, please post!! Thanks.

| Yes, you can run it straight to the board without an amp. If you have the right cable to do it. Make sure the mixboard takes an optical input and get yourself an optical cable, or minijack to 1/4 inch or whatever you need to get from one to the other. The mixboard operator should know that it is a signal level line and not to plug it in and amp it up all kindsa loud, thereby blowing homies speakers. |
