| I have the X-530s and i love them. Definatly the best speakers i have ever owned. I dont know if you want 5.1 though, the wires are kind of short imo so the user has to be kind of near to the tv then to get the full effect.
I havent heard any of the other speakers mentioned above so i cant say anything. Best thing to do is go check them out at a store. |

| well lets be logical here. they are speakers made by the same company. x530 and x230 are ENTRY LEVEL, 5300e and 2300 and promedia 2.1 are MID-RANGE, and logitech z-5500 and kiplisch promedia 5.1 are HIGH-END, FOR "PC SPEAKERS."
yes x530 are great for the price very loud, bass is insane if u make it like mine, but you can get more with 5300e, its only LOGIC. same company, higher end speaker, more money, so it shouldnt be worse.

in the case of x530 vs. 5300e, sure, the 5300e's are probably better, but that doesn't necessarily make them good. nor does it mean any specific person would like them....which is what this thread is about

| i know that because you pay more doesnt get you more, but when you pay more within the SAME BRAND it SHOULD be better, such as a x530 vs z5300e case. but the z5500 vs kipslich 5.1 is debatable because i have not heard them both, i do think kiplisch overcharges, tho. likes lets take an example, like an extreme case with bose vs another home theather that is 1/4th the price. the home theather that is 1/4th the price is proably better because bose wants your money.
like an x530 can be 60$ on newegg, and you get a boombox for 100$, and the boombox doesnt even come CLOSE AT ALL to the x530. the x530 will OBLITERATE the 100$ boombox because they suck and have no bass and are for protibility. bo0mbox is more money because you pay for the digital displays and the cd player and radio ect, but so what sounds like **** so i wouldnt bother, portable or not.

| I heard some z2200's a couple days ago, they are supposed to be close the z2300's. I really liked the sound, they can get a TON louder than my current set, and distortion seems non-existant at the levels I'd ever use them at.
The x-530's look a little cheesy to me, less power, small sub...
Thanks again for the recommendation. |

| Just picked up a set of z2200's on ebay for $58 shipped. I figured an extra set for my other pc would be nice too. =) |

| This thread was dead, but just for reference:
The Z-2300's and Z-2200's sound nearly identical to me, the 2300's seem to have a little better range overall though. Thanks again for the recommendation. I now have a set that I customized for a home theater setup as well. Nothing can compare for the $$. |

| Are you looking for 2 channel speakers? If so, a pair of swan M-200s would be far better than anything logitech has to offer. afaik they are sold on newegg. Just use pricegabber
