| I am interested in nice speakers. I was just asking questions as I do not understand this. It's just I see like 100 dollar 5.1 sytems with the woofer and all and then you showed me those two speakers for like 200 with no woofer. I just wasn't sure what made them so much better and if they will get very loud or not. |

| Loudness is not what makes speakers good. $100 5.1 and other cheap PC surround speakers are utter crap. The center channel will be very quiet, they usually have large gaps in the frequency response and you can count on flabby uncontrolled bass, recessed midrange and rolled off treble, among many other thing.
A properly placed set of quality stereo speakers (such as the M200s) will soundstage and image just as good, if not better than all the cheap surround speakers you see, and sound much, much better to boot.

| a 5" (who makes 5"?) woofer is NOT going to push low frequencies. If that were true, we wouldn't have 10-18's. The "woofer" is a midrange, so its not going to push lows.
EDIT: WHO THE HECK IS SWAN!? |

Here is a long review of them: http://www.3dsoundsurge.com/reviews/SwanM200/M200.html

| No dont get them, get the Z-2300, its got a loud sub and will hit hard, thats ALL i would care about, satillites cost too much and are bs. The sub is what goes BOOM. BOOM, rules, so if you get the Z-2300 2.1, you will play games and hear BOOM BOOM, and your music will go BOOM BOOM. Boom hides poor satillites, so it doesnt matter. If you are gaming, maybe get the Z-5300e 5.1 instead, they will go BOOM BOOM, and its 5.1. I have the X-530 myself, they are good, but if you want, BOOOOOOOOM, get like what I recommended prior, because its got more wattage and BOOM sub. I have heard, of course studio speakers, on different occasions, well yes if you are mixing music, they are better, BUT I DONT CARE, I think its better to go BOOM BOOM, gamming NEEDS an individual low-frequency object like a sub to get LOUD bass. It doesnt matter if the sattilites cant produce low freqs, THATS WHY THERE IS A SUB, how funn so you can go BOOM, BOOM.

| What's scary, is that I don't know if you are joking, or if you are actually being serious.
EDIT:
Just to clearify, when I said computer subs don't actually do what they are designed to do, I was serious. All they produce is a flabby, uncontrolled and overexaggerated mid-bass. The mid-bass would be the "booms" you describe. Actual bass, which the subs fail to produce, would be the lowest octaves on an organ, for example.
A nice set of monitors will produce mid-bass much better than 95% of all computer woofers.

| when you have music lovers in america, they usually consist of 2 different type of listeners.
boomer and tweakers.
the boomers love the sound of bass, especially that boomy one note sound that give a nice hum, but in reality it is an inaccurate sound (it the enclosure that make a 20hz note sound the same as an 80hz sound).
the tweaker is alway refining his sound in pursuit of that perfect sound. sometimes he will overdue it. I admit that I fit in the latter category. I'm a tweaker. I don't care if I overdue it
tweaker are sometimes a little too hard on the boomers. I've never been like that. because I remembered my history. I was a boomer first and foremost, before I was ever a tweaker. most tweaker were boomers first, but then they seem to forget that when they start tweaking
due to ac-3, DD and dts. there have really been a new 3rd category that isn't yet recognized. this is the tweak-boomer. this guy likes accurate sound with a lot of extra bass thrown in
their really isn't anything wrong with any of them
