Hi.
I assembled a pc a while back .. didn't purchase a sound card back then..
Don't have much knowledge about the sound card's.. Any idea's which one i am supposed to get ? :/
I have the on board sound as of now..

Whatever you do don't buy a creative soundcard!!!! Waht about the Razer Soundcard I think you can buy it on special with the Razer barracuda gaming headset.

There is nothing wrong with Creative Sound Cards. I have been using my Audigy 2ZS for several years now without problems.

Last i heard, creative crippled their older cards when used under vista with the correct drivers, in order to sell new cards. Pretty shady if you ask me.

vista doesnt support directsound...so thats part of the problem.

The Beta Drivers work just fine. As do the non beta drivers that i got from Creative. The Daniel K drivers also work perfectly. I dual boot with Vista and Win7 and i have no issue with 5.1 sound in or out of games. On either OS. So the Creative cards are just fine.

GRAW 2 keeps crashing after ~ 5 mins into the game, quick googling tells me creative drivers @ fault
and I couldn't get daniel_K's driver installed either

that was when I was still using the beta driver back from May?-June-ish.... haven't tried it again
but then again, If I wasn't so lazy, I'd open that box from woot and install that razer card I got while back
along with reinstall... hmmmmmm...... I should just stop mumbling and get to work....
