| my audio setup for the future ok, i want to get a pretty good audio setup in the future, but i don't want to spend a **** load of money on it. around $300 would be good, but i can prob go to 400 if it will give me significant better audio.
ok, mostly for gaming, some music, and i am part of the group that can tell the difference between onboard audio and a sound card. I will be using the auzentech prelude sound card with this setup. It has to be a 4.1 setup. If you are going to recomend anything, put every thing i will need to have it working with my comp, don't leave anything out.
Now, my main wanting out of the system is great gaming sound, but also, i would like it to looks good also. But not if it will draw back on performance.
Thanks.
edit: has to ship to Canada, perhaps this site. Musician's Friend

| Re: my audio setup for the future you can but it will be more expensive since they are sold in sets of 2. I have maudio bx5a with an acoustic research sub. you could get medium size monitors for the front and smaller ones for the rear to save money.

surely for multimedia purposes he would be better off with a set of logitechs?

| Re: my audio setup for the future ^but i would rather steer away from logitechs and get a set that will last me a good long while. Im not sure if monitors are the best thing for gaming though, i was thinking more like hi-fi speakers that oreo recomends or something.

I will never recommend computer speakers because they isn't a computer speaker made that sound good.
1. they are made with plastic enclosures that resonate crazy. resonation is the enemy of good sound.
2. they use cheap speakers. you need flat and uniform response to have good sound
3.cheap crossovers.
4. to this date there have not be 1 high quality computer speaker made with maybe the exception of the magnaplaner computer speakers. yet you are now seeing computer speakers that cost more than studio monitors.
you posted that you wanted good sound. you posted enough money to buy them. not answer your post. I gave you my highly educated opinion. I will never recommend computer speakers. now tim just wants to flame (he's done this a few times before on here and the other forum) Sam Ash Music 1-800-4-SAMASH
have good deal on studio speakers. I'm trying to find a link on the world best 100 subwoofer from partsexpress
receivers and hi fi speakers are another option to good sound. the 4.1 route might be a little simpler here

| Re: my audio setup for the future im sorry eric but linking me to a site isn't really gonna help as i know nothing about what makes a good speaker/monitor, so i need someone to link me directly to the proper speakers and sub that i need, or tell me the names of them so i can search them.
I think i would prefer hi-fi speakers.
Yeah im a pain,
But i would appreciate the help.
