Default mp3 - audio programs

I was wondering is there any program which I can use for easly changing sound format (for expl. from mp3 to wav or wma and backward)?

Also I need good mp3 riper - who can advice me what program to use? When I installed XP, my previous program (audio catalyst 2.1) just didnt work, there was message: "invalid float point operation" - can I do something about this?

Thanks

First to answer ur "invalid floating point error" .... reinstall Audio catalyst .. the prob will dissappear.

As for ripping programs n' converting format's ... I prefer to use Goldwave for most my editing n' converting ...

Winamp is also good ..since there are a lot of plugin's available for it.

I have alredy try to reinstall Audio Catalyst - but problem is the same "Invalid Floating Point Operation".

Goldwave is good program I can see, but I can't rip into mp3 - I think I need to download some kind of codec.
Is there more simple program than Goldwave which I can use just to convert music format - >>just select and convert into... format <<. And also another program which only function is riping mp3.
