Quite a random question for this thread, wouldn't you say?

SENNHEISER PC 150 2 x 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Headset - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826106346

or this Microphone?

Which microphone will do a better job?

In my experience those desktop mics suck. I don't know about this mic, but you can't use speakers on your desks if you have one of these and don't want to mute your microphone (eg karaoke).

You will also suffer from more ambient noise I think.

Hey dude if you want a good gaming Headset this is a good one( Razer Barracuda HP-1 8 Channel Gaming Headphones) here is the link http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Barracud.../dp/B000H89E20
Although it cost $99 and the bass is weak it is very good and is the #1 gaming headphones out now. Trust me you will see a great rise in your playing skills when it comes to first person shooters (your frag limit will go up rapidly)and other games. Trust me I was a n00b until I started to play with these head set.

I don't care about sound.. that much. I have speakers for this.

I more care about Microphone.
So.. I don't know if standard Microphone or one of those Headset will be better.

My suggestion:

Sennheiser 280Pros - $84.99
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=386017
Love these headphones - couldn't be happier (Thanks Crysalis!)

Zalman Mic Attachment - $6.99
http://www.xoxide.com/zmmic1.html

I use these two together for gaming, ventrilo, music & movies...
Highly recommended combo.
