nope but im about ready to see if this ipod can withstand the pressure of my jeep running over it... im pretty sure its the hard drive the hard drive tests and scan dont work at all in diagnostic mode... but everything else in diagnostic mode works

this isnt mine its my gf im gettin her a new red 8gb nano for her bday and im taking this one to f around with see if i can fix it and use it for my car. but she didnt buy the warranty i think cause its a hp ipod and the apple care thing doesnt work for them so she didnt buy it. i might just buy a hd or like smashed ipod off ebay and just swap the the hds.

When its in disk mode, will your computer see it as a HD? If so, FORMAT IT as I've tried to tell you many times. You've never answered if it will see it specifically in disk mode or not. If it STILL restarts in disk mode, then there is a HD issue.

i said when i get it in disk mode and plug into my comp it says do not disconnect then quickly resets before i can do anything with it on the comp. it doesnt mount on the comp so it doesnt pop up as a hd but it makes the usb connect and disconnect noise

try plugging it in and leaving it. don't mess with it. then go to disc management of computer management in admin tools. see if you see it there.

Those "helpers" hijack the iPod so it's not mounted but iTunes can still write to it.

the general you are god well sorta i god rid of all those helpers in task manager and it doesnt restart when i plug it in but it doesnt pop up in my computer or itunes or the ipod updater so what should i do?

well actually it didnt restart cause itunes was like frozen its been restarting after that so poo. i think i need a new hd blah
