Default important sound card issue!

I have an SB Live! card and I have the kx drivers installed (the creative drivers were causing me tons of BSODs). I can't get any sound out of my digital speakers, but I can out of my analog headphones. I have tried checking and unchecking the 'Digital Output only' option but nothing has worked. I really need my sound soon too so any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Well for one you said digital speaker. the is really no such thing as digital speakers. second how do you have the speaker hooked up? trough a receiver running to speakers (is it the analog or digital input you are using on the reciever) or powered computer speakers?

Well by digital speakers, i meant that they use digital output... anyways, The two front speakers run into the subwoofer which runs into the sound card directly. The speakers are powered seperately from the computer.

if you are using the digital out on the back of the sound card, use a 1/8 inch mono plug instead of stereo

umm this is the same setup i've had for 3 1/2 years and it's worked fine. It's the drivers that aren't working properly... And yes they are the most up to date drivers of the kx series. and no, I don't want the Creative drivers because they have caused me many many BSODs

The problem is the Digital Out Only function doesn't seem to work right.

I don't know much about sound related issues but perhaps if you were to install the Windows XP SP2 your kx drivers may work. I had a similar problem with my Netcomm 56k Modem. It's drivers wouldn't function properly until I installed SP2. Maybe also if you were to install SP2 the creative drivers would start to work properly and not cause BSODs.

Good Luck
