| I burned a slideshow in Movie Maker. On my laptop, CD picture is bad. Desktop - not. Basically what the subject says. I made a slide show in Movie Maker with music and such. I burned it as a movie file through movie maker. When I put that CD in my desktop, it's perfect. My brother's desktop? Perfect. In my laptop... neon green, blue, and pink picture. It's completely discolored.
What's the deal? Even the digital movie file on my hard drive resulted in the same thing.

| Re: I burned a slideshow in Movie Maker. On my laptop, CD picture is bad. Desktop - n Makaveli, I'm really not sure actually. How do I check?
I just thought everything was A-OKAY since I can watch actual DVD's on both through media player without any issues.
Mind you - The XP Pro SP2 installation I have on my laptop was the same installation from the same CD as I have on the desktop. Same darn OS from the same darn CD.

| Re: I burned a slideshow in Movie Maker. On my laptop, CD picture is bad. Desktop - n It could very well be that the Desktop has codecs that it acquired from online while doing the movie. I am jsut guessing that you used teh desktop to make this right?
The best thing i can suggest is to try the various codec packs.
AC3Filter
CCCP
KLite
Vista Codec Pack (Will work on XP as well)
Any one of them will be great as a all in one codec bundle. See if that resolves the issue.

| Re: I burned a slideshow in Movie Maker. On my laptop, CD picture is bad. Desktop - n I made the slide show on my laptop, actually. See here's the deal...
Desktop = Ubuntu / XP. It's got such a small XP partition. It's only for gaming on CS, GTA, and occasionally Ultima Online. I have a good chunk of space free, however I have THAT many pictures I just decided to do the slide show on my laptop, due to the fact my laptop has a 160gb hard drive and it's all XP. That's why I did it on my laptop.
However, if anything, I would think the laptop would be more likely to have the required codecs, because I'm on it every day for a solid hour or two. On the desktop, I'm always in Ubuntu, and if I'm in Windows it's just to play a game.
Desktop and Laptop both use the same copy of XP Pro SP2.
Desktop (as well as my brother's desktop, ALSO with the same copy of XP Pro SP2) plays it fine.
Laptop... meh.
I'll check out the codecs you listed later and make sure this thing is up to date. Currently I'm transferring a bunch of garbage to and from my desktop so it's kind of unusable.

I will ponder this for a little while and get back to you see if i can figure something out.

| Re: I burned a slideshow in Movie Maker. On my laptop, CD picture is bad. Desktop - n I tried AC3. In fact, I think I already had AC3. Isn't that what Audacity requires? I remember a friend being over wanting a ringtone to be put on his microSD card for his phone and it prompted me with an error... I forget what it was exactly but it may have been AC3.... Anyway, I downloaded AC3 again. Nothing changed.
