right now, with my 8800gtx sli and quad core system [sigh], i'm coping with a bose companion 3 series speakers. which isn't that bad. but i'm really looking for something that can live up to the pc system.

i'm looking for 5.1 no higher, no less. i don't want too many speakers and nothing that extracts from surround sound. also, i'm looking for speakers that under 200 dollars. so basically: a really nice 5.1 surround sound speaker system that can be the best it can be in the quality field as far as 200 dollars will allow it.

i've heard of the logitech THX Z-5300e or the Creative G500. but i'm not entirely sure.

p.s. i don't explosive bass that drowns the clarity out of music, movies, and games. i want a bass that can make itself reconizable, but i really want the clarity to stand out.

your opinions are greatly appreciated. seriously. thanks guys.

Hello, for 200 dollars, i dont think you can get High quality very much. the best thing for a cheap 5.1 with anything near mid-high quality would probably a 5.1 component system... check out polk Audio at Circuit City or Best Buy. the little tang band drivers arent bad at all but for some serious quality...

did i kill this thread?? Sorry!!! but very limited prices usually mean logitech/creative/altec lansing...
try and see if you can save up! you'll be happy with a rocking bookshelf system. and if you're not a basshead, Four(Or six) 5 1/4" drivers with some equalization just might satisfy you. Good Luck!!!

hmm im just curious guys, what r the top, selling, worthy brands i personally should look into? I'm using a Z-2200 from Logitech, but it has bad crackles in the left speaker n im on the hunt as well for high quality speakers, mostly that r 2.1. I want ones that have a good bass n treble sound for cheap price. Here are ones im looking into but not sure if i want to get when i have the money that is:

Your right... But for people who want better sound, they usally have an amp and some serious speakers or monitors to plug it in to. Or headphones.

I would love it if someone like Polk Audio or any other good hi fi specialists releast a 600 Dollar PC Speaker set.
