Default how to open .ts file

I downloaded a HDTV file with .ts extension from a Web site.
I have tried VLC, and it can play it.
But I want to burn it as VCD, so it must be converted to other
file format first.

Please suggest a tool for the conversion of TS to MPG or AVI.

Try search on Google, like: .ts to .avi or converting .ts to .avi and i thing that it will come out with some solution.
I hope this helps.

get a codec, or a player with built in codecs.

I use both MPlayer and The K-Multimedia Player and they both play .ts files natively.

Thanks for your help!

I googled for an hour, and finally got a free software produced by a Taiwan guy.

This is its name in Traditional Chinese Characters: 音樂轉檔精靈
